Alliance of Minority Medical Associations
The vision of the Alliance of Minority Medical Associations is to eliminate health disparities and promote optimal health and wellness for all Americans through education, research, and health policy. One of their stated goals is to develop strategies to increase the minority health care workforce.

American Academy of Family Physicians
The AAFP's vision is to transform health care to achieve optimal health for everyone. The mission of the AAFP is to improve the health of patients, families, and communities by serving the needs of members with professionalism and creativity.

American Academy of Pediatrics
AAP is committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine
The American Association of Osteopathic Medicine lends support and assistance to the nation's osteopathic medical schools, and to serve as a unifying voice for osteopathic medical education.

American Board of Family Medicine
The mission of the ABFM is to promote excellence in medical care through educational and scientific initiatives. Through certification and maintenance of certification programs the ABFM pursues its mission by establishing, maintaining, and measuring high standards of excellence in the specialty of Family Medicine. The ABFM seeks to provide assurance to the public that certified family physicians possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide quality care to the individual, family and community through commitment to professional standing, continued competency in the specialty of Family Medicine, and lifelong learning.

American Board of Pediatrics
The American Board of Pediatrics certifies general pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality health care for infants, children and adolescents. The ABP certification provides assurance to the public that a general pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist has successfully completed accredited training and fulfills the continuous evaluation requirements that encompass the six core competencies: patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice. The ABP's quest for excellence is evident in its rigorous evaluation process and in new initiatives undertaken that not only continually improve the standards of its certification but also advance the science, education, study, and practice of pediatrics.

American Board of Internal Medicine
The mission of the American Board of Internal Medicine is to enhance the quality of health care by certifying internists and subspecialists who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for excellent patient care.

American College of Physicians
The mission of the American College of Physicians is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of medicine.

American Medical Student Association
The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and healthcare delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, interns, residents and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.

Association of Academic Health Centers
The mission of AAHC is to improve the nation's health care system by mobilizing and enhancing the strengths and resources of the academic health center enterprise in health professions, education, patient care, and research.

Association of American Indian Physicians
The mission of the Association of American Indian Physicians is to pursue excellence in Native American healthcare by promoting education in the medical disciplines, honoring traditional healing principles and restoring the balance of mind, body, and spirit.

Association of American Medical Colleges
The AAMC and the medical schools, teaching hospitals, academic and professional societies, faculty, residents, and students they represent are committed to improving the nation's health through medical education, research, and high-quality patient care. They are dedicated to the communities we serve, committed to advancing the public good, and steadfast in our desire to earn and keep the public's trust for the role we are privileged to play in our society. The AAMC serves and leads the academic medicine community to improve the health of all. The AAMC has a dedicated Center for Workforce Studies that focuses on physician workforce issues related to physician supply, demand, ultilization, and distribution across specialty and geographic region.

Association of Minority Health Professions Schools
The mission of the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools is to engage the collective resources, scholarship and technology of their member institutions to facilitate and promote optimum health among poor and minority people. Three goals are 1) improving the health status of African Americans, underrepresented minorities and the underserved; 2) growing the representation of qualified African American underrepresented minorities in the health professions; and 3) strengthening institutions and programs as well as other programs throughout the nation which will in turn improve the role of minorities in the provision of health care.

Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice
The Institute aspires to be the preeminent research and educational institution devoted to the ongoing reform of the U.S. health care system. It strives to achieve a patient-centered, high-quality, cost-effective health care system with access and excellence for all. The Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care provides comprehensive information and analysis about health care resources of national, regional, and local markets, as well as individual hospitals and their affiliated physicians.

Disparities Solutions Center and Multicultural Education, Massachusetts General Hospital
The Disparities Solutions Center is dedicated to the development and implementation of strategies that advance policy and practice to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health care. The Disparities Solutions Center will achieve this mission by serving as a change agent by developing new research and translating innovative research findings into policy and practice, developing and evaluating customized policy and practice solutions for health care providers, insurers, educators, community organizations, and other stakeholders, and providing education and leadership training to expand the community of skilled individuals dedicated to eliminating health care disparities.

The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
The George Washington University is committed to improving the health and well-being of local, national and global communities, and their mission includes teaching with creativity and dedication, healing with quality and compassion, and discovering with imagination and innovation.

The Robert Graham Center
The Robert Graham Center exists to improve individual and population health by enhancing the delivery of primary care. The Center aims to achieve this mission through the generation or synthesis of evidence that brings a family medicine and primary care perspective to health policy deliberations from the local to international levels.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
The mission of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is to promote the development of member colleges and universities, to improve access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students, and to meet the needs of business, industry and government through the development and sharing of resources, information and expertise.

Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Health Care, Bureau of Health Professions and Office of Rural Health Policy

HRSA has a set of overarching goals:
1. Improve access to health care
2. Improve health outcomes
3. Improve the quality of health care
4. Eliminate health disparities
5. Improve the public health and health care systems
6. Enhance the ability of the health care system to respond to public health emergencies
7. Achieve excellence in management practices

HRSA oversees the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BHPC), the Bureau of Health Professions (BHPR), and the Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP).

Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies
The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies informs and illuminates the nation's major public policy debates through research, analysis, and information dissemination in order to: improve the socioeconomic status of black Americans and other minorities; expand their effective participation in the political and public policy arenas; and promote communications and relationships across racial and ethnic lines to strengthen the nation's pluralistic society.

National Association of Community Health Centers
The mission of the NACHC is to promote the provision of high quality, comprehensive and affordable health care that is coordinated, culturally and linguistically competent, and community directed for all medically underserved populations.

Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care
The mission of the National Center for Primary Care is to promote excellence in community oriented primary health care and optimal health outcomes for all Americans, with a special focus on underserved populations and on the elimination of health disparities.

National Hispanic Medical Association
The National Hispanic Medical Association's mission is to improve the health of Hispanics and other underserved populations. As a rapidly growing national resource based in the nation's capital, NHMA provides policymakers and health care providers with expert information and support in strengthening health service delivery to Hispanic communities across the nation. Their agenda includes expanding access to quality health care, increasing opportunities in medical education, cultural competence, and research for Latinos.

National Medical Association
The mission of the National Medical Association is to advance the art and science of medicine for people of African descent through education, advocacy, and health policy to promote health and wellness, eliminate health disparities, and sustain physician viability.

National Rural Health Association
The NRHA is a national nonprofit membership organization with more than 18,000 members. The association's mission is to provide leadership on rural health issues. The NRHA membership is made up of a diverse collection of individuals and organizations, all of whom share the common bond of an interest in rural health.

Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative
The Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative is a coalition of major employers, consumer groups, and other stakeholders who have joined with organizations representing primary care physicians to develop and advance the patient centered medical home. The Collaborative believes that, if implemented, the patient centered medical home will improve the health of patients and the viability of the health care delivery system. In order to accomplish this goal, employers, consumers, patients, physicians and payers have agreed that it is essential to support a better model of compensating physicians.

Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science
The mission of SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for science research, leadership, and teaching careers at all levels.

Society of General Internal Medicine
The Society of General Internal Medicine is an organization dedicated to improving patient care, education, and research in primary care and general internal medicine.

Society of Teachers of Family Medicine
The core purpose of STFM is to advance family medicine and to improve health through a community of teachers and scholars. Their core values include integrity, openness, nurturing, excellence, learning, and being relationship-centered.

Stoeckle Center
The Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation is devoted to revitalizing and redesigning the delivery of primary care in order to provide the highest level of clinical excellence, provide and extraordinary experience of care for patients and their families, and create and exciting and fulfilling professional life for current and future primary care practitioners. They are committed to partnering with people throughout the country to improve primary care through collaborative work in research, innovation, education and policy reform.

Student National Medical Association
Student National Medical Association is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. Established in 1964 by medical students from Howard University School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College, the membership includes over 5000 medical students, pre-medical students, residents and physicians. SNMA is committed to increasing the pipeline of students of color that consider and prepare for medical and scientific careers. Its community mentoring programs provide science appreciation and education, mentoring, and academic enrichment to elementary, junior high school, high school and college students interested in pursuing health-related careers.

UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care
The mission of the Center for Excellence in Primary Care is to catalyze the transformation of primary care at the regional, national, and international level.
